Yes,it contains non-toxic ingredients, is CE certified and REACH compliant. The non-toxicity has been confirmed by the TÜV.
Our cooling products are based on the principle of evaporation, which means that only water is required for operation , but the products remain 100% dry!

In contrast to all other products available on the market, our cooling vests and mats stay 100% dry ! The materials we use are designed so that we can cool down to 15 ° C compared to the ambient temperature. The worldwide patented 3-layer material is light and extremely durable.

More information on dry evaporation can be found here.
The cani.cool dry evaporation products offer a reduction of 5°C to  15°C againstüabove the ambient temperature. The ambient temperature, the level of the air flow and the humidity determine the kühlwirkung and the kühlduration.
This is very easy. You can find the individual steps here .

  • Open the valve or zipper.
  • Fill the product with clean water and then close the valve.
  • Follow the directions on the label for the amount of water needed for the product. Don't overfill! ...
  • Distribute the water evenly in the product.
  • Open the valve or zipper to remove excess air and water.
  • Close the valve. Ready to get dressed.

This YouTube video shows the activation process for all products with dry evaporative cooling.

When you have filled the cooling mat with water and activated it, you will notice the following: If you touch both sides of the cooling mat, you have the feeling that the lower black side is cooler than the grey, upper side. Here our sense of touch plays a trick on us: the two sides are made of different materials: the upper side has a slightly "rough" structure and is more resistant. The lower side is smoother and feels cooler. For example, if we touch a glass and a piece of wood, we have the feeling that the glass is cooler, although both objects have the same temperature. If you measure the temperatures with a thermal camera, you can see that the temperatures are almost identical on both sides. In the end, it has hardly any influence on the performance of the cooling mat which side is on top. However, we recommend to have the grey one on top, as this side is the more resistant.
Only very little water is needed. In the manual as well as on the product you will find the respective quantity which has to be filled into the cooling product.

Wearing a cooling vest is NOT like air conditioning in your car. Although a cooling vest cools you plenty, your body will quickly adapt to the new temperature and you will not feel the cold as directly, but the cooling vest will continue to cool you, so don't worry.
You can compare it to jumping into a swimming pool where it feels cold at first, but you quickly get used to it.
As in a swimming pool, the temperature of an evaporative cooling vest depends on the outside temperature, the humidity and the wind. It relates to these conditions. Please note that high humidity affects the ability of the fabric to evaporate water and thus provides cooling. Sometimes this will not give you the desired or required cooling in very high humidity. But remember: it would have been much worse without the cooling vest.

Depending on the temperature / air flow / humidity, our products offer up to 3 days of kühlcomfort.
The cooling begins immediately after filling the cooling vest or pad with water and lasts up to 72 hours.
The cooling fabric in our cooling products consists of a microscopically small net. This increases the surface area of the fabric and achieves the exceptional cooling performance of canicool products.

If there is too much water in the product, the mesh structure of the fabric is covered with water and thus reduces the cooling capacity. Furthermore, air can form in the vest during filling with water. This is also removed when the vest or mat is unwound.

Here you will find a video to activate the cooling products.
Perhaps you'll be familiar with the following: If you fill a glass with a cool drink in high humidity, the glass gets wet on the outside. Or you take a bottle out of the fridge when it's warm. Then small drops of water also form on the bottle. The humidity of the outside of the vest or mat can occur when there is high humidity in the ambient air. This moisture then condenses on the surface of the refrigerated products. This is a natural, physical process as it occurs again and again in nature (e.g. fog)
No, the temperature of the water has no significant influence on the cooling capacity. It is best to fill your refrigerated product with hand-warm water.
Yes, all products can be washed in the washing machine. Please note the following points: NEVER dry the vest or mat in the dryer! Make sure to close the vest before washing. Close the zipper of the cooling vest and wash it "left", i.e. with the inside out. Do not use fabric softener. Wash the vest or mat at a maximum temperature of 40°C / 104°F. Further information on washing your refrigerated product can be found in the user manual.

The cani.cool renewable bio-based phase change material (PCM) cooling technology is made with materials of plant origin. In contrast to petroleum-based phase change materials, the bio-PCM is non-toxic and has a low flammability class. Our bio-based PCM is 100% biodegradable, durable, reusable, 20% lighter than water and does not create condensation.
cani.cool bio-PCM is the only PCM on the market that is REACH-compliant!
Yes, cani.cool organic phase change materials have received the Certified Bio-based Product Label from the US Department of Agriculture .
The label confirms that the amount of renewable bio-based material in the product reaches or exceeds the values set by the USDA. All PCM products were classified as 100% bio-based. All information on the bio-based quantities of a product are checked by independent laboratories and monitored by the USDA.
The time it takes to fully activate the PCM depends on the cani.cool PCM temperature and your cooling method:
  • Ice water: approx. 20 minutes
  • Freezer: about 40 minutes
  • Fridge: about 60 minutes
You can also activate the PCM inserts by exposing them to a lower ambient temperature.

The Pacs charge at the following temperatures:
1) 10 ° C / 50 ° F with the cani.cool Pac 15 ° C / 59 ° F insert
2) 19 ° C / 66 ° F with the cani.cool Pac 21 ° C / 70 ° F insert
3) 26 ° C / 79 ° F with the cani.cool Pac 29 ° C / 84 ° F insert
You can keep the Pacs in your freezer or refrigerator so they are always ready for use. Lay the inserts flat in one layer instead of stacking them.
Or, if you want to save space in your freezer for other things, they can be stored at room temperature. When placing inserts in a freezer, make sure they are dry so that they do not stick to the inside of your freezer.

The Kühlpacs are manufactured in the Netherlands.
