There are many cooling products on the market, but most do not work properly. After a hot summer, which one of our old dogs unfortunately did not survive (the heat made it too hard for him), something new had to come: Cooling products for dogs, which really work.
Dogs are much worse at absorbing heat than cold. Many older short-nosed dogs do not cope when it gets warmer and suffer from so-called heat stress.
Dogs cannot sweat and must cool down in the so-called wrinkled tissue in the nose. To do this, they begin to pant and thus generate more evaporation cooling. The respiratory rate increases up to 300x per minute, resulting in heat stress.
